I have a few riders that come into my starbucks from time to time, and i like to ask them about riding and what not...One customer asked me if i rode and i told him i was in the process of saving up for an sv650s....he said that i should go hop the louisiana/texas border, where the cost of living is alot cheaper, and get my bike from louisiana, and i could save ~1500 bucks off the bat. What are you guys' opinion on that, can i really do that? Is it complicated w/ the out of state thing or what. He said he bought his back in louisiana and saved 2100 off any dealer he found in texas...

    any thoughts?

i dont know how the laws are in other areas but here in ohio you dont pay tax on the bike until you register it in your home state.. it shouldnt be a hassle other than getting it home..

I have never done it but I would look into getting hit with sales tax twice.
