Head of State. Talk to these stupid fucking freed slaves and they want to move. Fine. I'll help. I do what they want and then go and get the picture of the Lincoln Memorial so they're finally ready to start travelling. I go to the subway right by the Lincoln Memorial, and they pop up after waiting a day. Then I go to the Lincoln Memorial, and they won't follow. It's like 20 feet. Instead they go the opposite direction. No amount of waiting will make them show. So I decide to escort them. They head off in the opposite direction and are currently near Megaton. :wtf: Nothing I can do will make them go to the right place. I waited 8 days, they didn't show up. They weren't stuck near the memorial like that glitch said they might be. Fast travelling back to their old hideout and talking to a merchant then going back to the memorial doesn't work either. FUCK

WHY THE FUCK DO YOU WALK THE WRONG WAY AND WALK SO FUCKING SLOW? Killing the game for me. :(

It takes a shitload of time for them to get to the memorial. go do other shit and check back every once in awhile.

also, don't let the two leaders die, otherwise the quest will fail.

I finally got them to go back to the subway after fast travelling and doing a lot of talking to people. Fuck what a pain in the ass. Thanks for the help guys.

Now I have a new problem. I bought the Broken Steel add on because I hit level 20, and wanted to go to 30 (or at least past 20). Bought it on my unbanned console, brought the hdd down to my other banned console and no ability to go to level 30. Went back to my unbanned console and put the game in and updated it. Come back down and I can go further. Now today it says I'm maxed agian. :wtf:

    Glitchy fucking shit man. :squint:s

Why not just play on the unbanned console? I'm not completely following you because DLC is tied to the console you purchase on. You can only play on another console if you authenticate online which your banned console can't do.

    Ah shit.

And I've got one downstairs hooked up to the computer monitor, one upstairs attached to the bigger tv. I chill down here and play xbox all the time while the wife does whatever. I've also only got one internet line to this part of the house, so that's even more of a pain in the ass. Although I guess I don't need to be on XBL.

Didn't even think of the whole being tied to one console thing. Fuck. :o

At least I didn't try this awesome little plan of snagging the DLC and using it without actually owning the game. Then I'd be :Ownedd:

The quest ended for me when I talked to the leader guy outside the subway station. I sold him everything but Lincoln's Repeater and was done.

When I did that quest they turned up at the Lincoln memorial when I waited for about 5 hours for them. If you check the map when that;s your active quest it shows their location..

Don't feel bad I decided to wait at the memorial for them for 24 hours. So of course Mr. Crowley found me at the end of the wait and attacked me for stealing the T-51b Power Armor.

    Bug-Free Method

Due to bugs being commonly reported on this quest (involving Hannibal Hamlin's final speech should the player help him), here is a step-by-step walkthrough to ensure the player does not experience any issues:
    1. Start the quest by talking to Hannibal Hamlin at Temple of the Union.
    2. Talk to Caleb Smith in Temple of the Union about obtaining the Lincoln Memorial Poster.
    3. Fast Travel to the Museum of American History and obtain the Lincoln Memorial Poster (NOTE: you have to walk about a hundred feet from the Temple of the Union before you can fast travel)
    4. Exit the Museum and walk to the Lincoln Memorial on the way you will also discover the Mall Northwest station.
    5. Kill all the slavers at the Lincoln Memorial.
    6. Fast travel back to Temple of the Union.
    7. Speak with Hannibal Hamlin and tell him that you have killed the slavers.
    8. Speak with Caleb Smith and give him the Lincoln Memorial Poster
    9. Speak with Hannibal Hamlin who will tell you that he will depart shortly for the Lincoln Memorial.
    10. Exit the Temple of the Union and wait for 1-2 hours just outside the door.
    11. You will notice a caravan of former slaves has formed, make sure they start walking.
    12. Fast travel to the Mall Northwest metro station.
    13. Wait 24 hours (if the caravan has not arrived keep waiting until they do); you could also sleep for 24 hours in the Memorial itself
    14. Hannibal Hamlin will thank you for your help, you will complete the quest and receive the achievement/trophy as well as Dart Gun schematics
It is advised to save at the important "points" of this quest, in case you still experience this bug. If you do, you may need to reload the game.
(It should be noted that the game may crash when waiting for Hannibal and the others to set off on their journey from the Temple of the Union to the Lincoln Memorial. Saving before this point in order to reload the game and try again seems to be the only suggestable option that may solve the problem.)

 theres TONS of side quests to do, if you just run through the main story line you've only scratched the surface of this game.

Just load up your last gave save and go on from there :ugh:

Oh and the 360 version with the DLC removes the ending and raises the level cap

nothing worked for me on the 360. They even got to within 100 yards of the place, then turned around. So i gave up. Then many days later i happened to be back at the memorial and they were there :dunno:

    i returned it :p

i have no intention of buying it again. i always rush through the main quest of every game i buy. i was hoping they'd at least it keep it like oblivion in that you can go back and finish the entire game after finishing the story

You can only carry on if you get broken steel, i think

or just don't bother with the last quest where you turn on the water thing, cos it kills you and ends the game
