Goal: 1.5x body weight in bench / dead / squat

    I've established a firm gym and eating routine the last six months. I am committed to lifetime fitness. Now I need to set milestones so that I am always advancing.

    My first major milestone / goal is to lift 1.5 my body weight on bench, deads and squats.

    I weigh 180 so I want 270x8 across the board with PERFECT form.

    My best lifts:

    Bench: 195 x 6
    Squat: 275 x 3
    Dead: 185 x 5 (My form still isn't perfect on deads so I don't think I'm lifting as heavy as I could)

    This should be an easily obtainable goal in the next 6-12 months and putting here will commit me to it.

    As in my ass wasn't hitting grass on those sets? Probably not. Hence the 'perfect form' stipulation.

    I've been squatting since high school but never did deads so Im far more comfortable with squats. That said, i'm sure i didn't go down all the way on that set, which is why I am putting high importance on form.

    275+ bench took me a while to hit. going from 215 max to 275 took probably about a year. Then I quit working out and it took me 2x as long to do the same thing the second time :wtc:

    you realize how unbalanced you will be if you can bench what you squat?

    270x8 on bench would be a pretty massive increase in bench press. your max would prolly be around 330. to me it seems to be the lift of the big 3 that increases the slowest. i think you could do it if you were bulking like crazy but then you wouldn't have the 1.5x bodyweight thing going for ya then.

    good luck anyways, it's good to have things to aim for

    I actually don't. I squat/dead/press 225. But I also started squattng/dead lifting at the beginning of summer fr the first time whereas it took me like 5 years to bench 225. I just don't thnk I've tried squatting more
