I didn't mind it - I mean it would have come off of any vehicle I owned in about two seconds with some dental floss...but whatever.

It was just such a stupid little badge. The fact that they would stick one in such a random place on a z06 (just in front of the rear wheel) was always hilarious to me.

like they wanted to be associated with a badass car, but they didn't want to make it TOO obvious because they knew it was lame.

Labor Day Weekend is the Corvette gathering at Bowling Green - I wonder how many vettes will be there with the badge still on (of those that originally had them)

What's funny is that their reason for taking the badges off is the exact opposite of why they started putting them on 'Well, we want everyone to know these individual brands are made by GM, lolololol'

And now some UAW schmuck is out of a job. Oh well. He can go read the paper and watch tv in the break room for a few months while they find something else for him to do.

They never really bothered me, and they always peeled right off.

That said, probably a good idea in the long run.

It's put on by a robot, and probably loaded into the hopper sideways.

My grandfather tells me stories of how cars used to come into his GM plant with a VIN/paperwork saying it was a chevy, but had all Pontiac or Buick badges on it . He says one was actually half and half. One side of the car had Chevy Panels, and the other Buick .

While I think the consolidation down to four brands is great.

Sometimes I wonder what would happen if they scratched everything and went to a GM nameplate.

It would probably be like having a 18-year-old running the company.
