I really didn't want to hear this, i wanted GM to have to break down its dealer networks, get rid of its useless divisions, simplify its supply chain, and turn itself into a solid core base of what it does best, i mean it may be the biggest manufacturer of cars, but as a company, lotus is more successful, as it actually turns a profit.

sales isn't even the issue, its the fact that they have to pay so many pentions, and have such high overheads from the abundance of useless brands that barely sell any cars.

I love Holdens, but i'm more of a Ford fan than a GM fan, Ford make some fantastic vehicles internationally, and everything they touch turns to Gold (vehicle quality wise, outside america) they just can't seem to turn a profit.

Chrysler paid off their loans in 3 years back in the 80's. Wonder how long this one will take.

unfortunately, i don't think western culture will ever be as efficient as the japanese for production on this sort of scale.
