Glutes extemely inactive. Need help... Ceaze?

    Well I found out by this guy that does biomechanics or something like that that my glutes are extremely inactive causing my hamstrings and lower back to be extremely tight. Which is why I have alot of knee pain. He said my thighs and hip flexors are doing all the work and getting beat up basically. My thighs always are in pain specifically by the knee. I foam roll my legs alot if that helps any.

    Hello there friend!! :p I've got the same issues going on right now.

    You need to also work on strengthening abs; do you sit a lot during the day? Foam rolling is awesome, so is stretching hip flexors, quads, glutes and piriformis; I'm stretching hourly during the day.

    PM me your email and I'll send you a PT program a friend made up for me for anterior pelvic tilt. She's got me doing a lot of single-leg stuff and ab work, plus stretching/foam rolling.

    i thought 1 leg squats stop the lower back/hamstrings from doing anything :dunno:

    By hyperextension do you mean that the leg kinda curves inwards, if you're looking at it from the side? So if you were looking at the left side of my body my legs would look like ) ?

    Yeah, lilke when you pull a barbie doll's knee out of joint. Not that I ever did THAT as a child.

    Big-time. When you're sitting, your hip flexors shorten..do it a lot and it becomes more permanent. That's what all my issues are from: I sit during the day for work and then I get home and play games for fun.
