I currently have two pairs of 16 oz gloves thinking this is a mid level size glove in case others need to use them. However I would like to know what should I be using for my size/weight. I am about 5'11" and fluctuate between 155lbs to 165lbs, any suggestions?

I have been using them so long I don't know if it would even matter to switch as I do know these are a bit to big for me.

what do you want to do with them? 16oz are used for sparring, if you want to fight then get 10-12

I just use 16oz for everything @ the gym. Glove weight depends on the org. you are fighting for, whether its amateur or not..etc

Alright then. I use the 16oz ones for basically everything be it hitting the bag or sparring. I just seen guys my size maybe even a bit smaller using smaller gloves so I thought they might be too big.

just use 16. i dont know any amateur fights in socal that allow anything but 16oz.

If anything, pick up some smaller ones for pad and bag work, but imo, if there is contact, you should be using 16oz gloves.

I have 10, 12, 14 and 16oz gloves. 10oz for speed days, 12 for regular training, 14 for sparring. Bought 16oz for sparring as well but I'm a girl so they're a bit big for my unusually stubby hands. I like the added resistance though.

where is that you guys fight that you need to provide your own gloves?

i use 14oz for training/sparring. for competition it's usually 10 or 12... can't remember exactly, but they promotion always provides them.

Yeah screw it I will stick with these for now, unless I really feel the need to go with lighter ones.

besides, if you always train with 16oz gloves then say you have a fight and you use 12 oz gloves.....you should be able to notice a hand speed difference.
