People liked the carry gun so much I though maybe a pic of the latest race gun we built.

Again the normal grip job, 1.5 lbs trigger, red dot sight, etc. The nicest thing is the barrel and the comp. The comp is our new prototype design. The muzzle end is angled down which creates another bearing surface to direct gass. Kind of like the AK 74 under scoop comp. The thing works, I'm going to have one put on my pistol after the Ca 3 gun series.

some close ups of the barrel. The ball end cuts lighten the gun slightly, adds some rigidity, but it's mostly for bling.

do you get much velocity loss with the comp holes that close to the chamber?

are the grooves on the chamber block simply for weight reduction or is there another motive there?

and is that actually worth the time to do it? doesn't seem like you'd remove hardly any weight?

you could say that the barrel fluting helps with cooling... very sexy gun though.

For california we pin and weld the comp. You can't tell by the pictures but it's CA legal.

The 6 port job bleed 50 feet per second compared to my non ported comp gun. On my gun I don't think I'm going to do the ports.

The barrel fluting is more for bling but if believing it helps with swing weight helps you game more power to you. I'm kind of a freak about swing weight, I like my guns on the lighter side as I feel it speeds up my target to target transitions. I think I'm going to flute my barrel, but not the hood.

I'm thinking I'm also going to do a big window in the slide like the glock 35 or a berreta style cut.

Wait, so if you pin and weld it, how do you strip the gun down? *confused*

And goddamn, the more I look at those pictures, the more I want one :o

The barrel does not come out. You pull the guiderod and tip the breech end of the barrel out. Now you can run a rod through the barrel. The inside of the side is usually pretty clean but you can get in there with a swab if needed. It's really not a big deal.

I was about ready to start coughing audibly until I came across those disclaimers. A Glock pistol barrel is not a 0.750" dia piece of steel 16-20" long like a HBAR AR-15...
