Owning and carrying a glock 23 I still belive a safety on the trigger is a retarded idea.

Safetys are there so if the trigger gets pulled... the gun doesn't go off. But in glocks if the trigger gets pulled...

What sense does that make? I don't carry with the safety on for my other guns... but glocks "famous" safety makes no sense to me.

How does it make sense to have a safety on the trigger?

I think it's so theres less chance the trigger gets pulled by something other than a finger accidentally. A finger will easily depress the safety but something else like clothing or whatever might not be able to depress the safety. Not sure though :dunno:

My friend just bought an XD-9, which has the trigger safety as well as a grip safety. It is still really annoying not having a conventional safety. I dont really get it :dunno:

they are mainly so the gun doesnt go off when you drop it from what ive read... but that doesnt always work either. my brother had an xdsc 40 go off when it hit the floor muzzle down. it was still in the in the waste holster when it fired.

:werd: if its that big of an issue get something else, personally I dont see the problem, even if I were to switch a carry gun with a manual saftey I would be carrying it with it off.

ive been told the glock safety was invented more for the military man/LE officer to use. How would you feel if you have a split second to squeeze the trigger n stop some1 from killing you, you manage to squeeze in time, but the safety is on...bye bye you... Glock safety = that wont happen. Besides, if the glock safety was that unsafe, we would hear about multiple multiple incidents of its crappiness.

That should be fun to lug around. Springfield Armory makes a badass concealed carry 1911 that's perfect size.

That's fine and dandy that's also how I carry... but the question is about a safety... on a trigger. It makes no sense.

i dont see a problem with it. i guess some people just have better gun safety than others and look at the glock safety differently

I pull the trigger, it drops the pin. If I don't pull the trigger, it doesn't drop the pin. Seems like that is how it should work to me.

fuckign dawt. that is the only safety that should be required on any gun, if you don't want it to go off, DON'T PULL THE FUCKING TRIGGER.

Understandable... so why make a safety then? That's the point! If you have a safety... ok. But how does a safety on the trigger make sense?

A lot of people in this thread are simply going over to "brains" and "safety is not pulling the trigger" etc... but that's not the point of this thread. The point is, and always was, if you have a safety on a gun... why would it be on the trigger?

Because one of the points of a safety is so if the trigger gets pulled accidentally the gun doesn't go off. :hsugh:
