    Glock vs. Sig. vs. Ruger?

I know I'm gonna get tore-up for posting this, but I really can't decide...

    This is what I'm thinking:

    Glock 17
    Ruger KP95DPR15
    Sig Sauer SP2022 (9mm)

I like the DA/SA of the Sig and Ruger, but everyone goes nuts about Glocks, and both of my brothers (cops - supposedly they can get me a discount) have Glocks (though one had a bad misfeed in a shoot-out). I've also owned a Ruger (KP89D) and I really liked it.

P.S. I will be taking a safety class and getting a CCW permit.

Not sure about that model sig but from what I've been reading and hearing, it sounds like Sig > Glock :noes: Must be a reason they're getting the Gov't contracts from the DHS tests... and the reports that Glocks broke down during the trials :eek3:

    But they're so expensive :o

I voted G17, a G19 would actually be first choice though for me. If all you want though is a range/plinking gun get the Ruger. I have the P89 and the thing is a beast. Yes both it and the Glock will run great, but the Rugers are tanks.

I voted other. Specifically, if your going for a full sized 9mm then get a Sig P226. Other options are the P229, P225, or P228. They are all compact Sig 9mms. If your looking for something like the Glock trigger then see if you can find a Sig with the DAK trigger. 6.5lb DAO pull. Personally I didn't like it, but other do so it might be an option for you.

Also, one of my next purchases is probably going to be either a P229 or a HK P2000 LEM. The HK LEM is a double action only trigger with a 5lbs pull I believe. It's really smooth and I was quite pleased with it overall. We'll see if the wife lets me get my P229 or her P2000 next. :wiggle:

    Beretta M9.

At least that's what I want/am getting. My dealer is on vacation ALL of next week so I have no idea if he'll even be able to get one from his distributor or not, the anticipation is killing me :wtc:.

I would take the Glock 17 off that list. Though I would disagree, if you have reservations about the Glock, the SIG's would be my next choice with no hesitation. Instead of the sigPro, I'd be looking at CPO Classic series P226 or P229, if not new ones. The CPO's are usually great deals with factory warranty.

    I've had a distaste for the M9 since I qual'd with it.

I just find it bulky, and the service pistols the Marine Corps have, well, just aren't that great. But probably the biggest reason is I just prefer the Sig P226 for a full sized 9mm.

When I handled an M9 at a gun show last weekend it fit my hand perfectly, I guess i'm lucky :x:.

Still can't decide between an M9 and a Glock 19 though... mabye i'll get the M9 now and then later down the road get a Glock 23.
