I just got back from the range. I put 250 rounds through my Glock 27. Eight of them failed to fire. I reloaded every one of them that didn't fire and they shot fine the second time. I was using Remington UMC.

On a lighter note I put 200 rounds through my USP. I love that gun and the hogue grips make it perfect. I'm coming up on the 2000 mark with no malfunctions :wiggle:. The last time I went to the range I put 500 rounds of Remington UMC through it and had no problems. The time before that I put 750 rounds of UMC through it with no problems. I have trouble blaming the ammo for a pussy ass Glock striker.

yeah, I'd blame shitty ammo before the gun. As much as I may disagree with glocks "PERFECTION" (and I have a g17 & g26), this is most likely an ammo issue, not a weapon issue.

Did the ammo feed into the gun well and it strike the primer and not fire?

If it actually hit the primer and didn't fire, then I'd blame ammo before the gun...

everytime a glock is blamed for a problem which turns out to be user error or issues w/ ammo, it just makes them look even better as a firearm IMO

its wierd cuz id love an HK USP but i cant justify buying one when a glock is just as proven if not more so, and 200 dollars less.

I've put 350 rounds through the gun. The gun isn't dirty. If it's too dirty to function properly after 350 rounds then it kinda goes against one of the main reasons to buy a Glock.

I reloaded every round that failed and it all fired on the second strike. The first time it happened I was like "damn this ammo does suck". The second time it happened I was like wtf? The eighth time it happened I was just fed up.

Does anyone know if glocks have second strike capability? like if the primer didn't get struck hard enough, just pull the trigger again for it to go off...

Let's see a 1911, XD, or any other SA gun handle a round that doesn't fire.

That round already failed once... why take the time to cock the hammer back by hand that could just give a no bang again?

im just saying that all the glock sackriders say that glock will run through anything, that they are unstoppable.
but then when they do fail, of course they are quick to blame the ammo, ammo that is reliable in any other gun out there.

its not just here, any gun forum is the same way. you either love the glock, or have an opinion of indifference. alot of people will spout off all the kB stuff, but i think pretty much any handgunner would try a glock at least once.

I wasn't trying to be hostile. It seems to me that anyone who trys to naysay a glock gets met with hostility and is automatically labeled a troll or some kind of newb :dunno:. If it had been an XD then I'm sure I would have gotten more posts like "yeah XDs suck" than "it was probably the ammo".

A non-hostile post would have been something like "I had 8 FTF in only 250 rounds through my 27. What could be causing the problem?"

Phrases like "Glock perfection my ass" and "I have trouble blaming the ammo for a pussy ass Glock striker" don't exactly exude impartiality.

Isn't this the gun you got used at a pawn shop for $370? Who knows what the previous owner had done to it, or even the pawn shop. I wouldn't be surprised if they did a "quick cleanup" to get it presentable for sale... field stripped it, hosed everything down with CLP, and wiped it down then tossed in the display case. Maybe it is a bum part or factory flaw somewhere, but it is kind of hard to jump to that conclusion when you have a used gun and no first hand knowledge of it history.

I've put 2k rounds through my 23. The only misfire I've ever had was from that exact ammo.
