How much does it take to install an extended magazine release and extended slide release on a glock? Is this something I can do myself?

... Haved you ever field stripped your glock?

That's all the effort it takes to change those pieces.

Yep! Awesome, then the parts are ordered. I just wanted to make sure I didn't get a surprise when they get here.

Extended controls were the best thing I ever did to my G23, especially the mag release.

Unless you're a gamer I see extended controls as a liability....but to each their own.

Well as it is now, I have to turn the gun 45-60 degrees off line just to get my thumb enough leverage to drop the mag. And I still can't convince my thumb to drop the slide be itself. Perhaps these will help

To drop the slide just use an overhand pull/tug on the slide. Even the Glock manual recommends this IIRC. If you're doing any training this is the technique taught by most as it will work on any gun you may be using.

That's how I do it now. It's such a habit, I doubt I'll sway from it much -- but it's a nice little add-on to have.

Hell, last class requiring us to drop the slide using our belts, boots, pockets -- whatever we could catch the slide on

I just ordered my extended slide release from my local shop. I really liked the one on the 34 I shot. Anyone have a link to install instructions?

    Very easy.

Why would you want to?

Search Glockmeister.com, Topglock.com or Glocktalk.com. I don't recall, but there are detailed howtos for doing just about anything to a Glock.
