As some of you know, I'm working on trying to trade my 3rd gen G34 for a G19.

I have a trade offer for a 2nd gen G19 and I'm wondering if, aside from obviously aesthetics, there are any major differences between the 2nd and 3rd gen? Should I hold out for a 3rd gen?

Should there be a value difference between the two? I was thinking there would between 3rd gen G34 and G19 so should I be asking for extra cash or extra magazines in the trade?

eta: the 19 has night sites. mine has a truglo front and factory adjustable rear

Pics of the G19 in question:

before everyone asks, the reason i'm doing this is bc i hardly ever go to the range and ccwing the 34 is getting harder since i'm getting smaller. :o

I'd ask for an extra mag or two. I have (and love) a second gen G19 with a Houge rubber grip thing. I could care less about the rail, I don't want a light or laser but if it's important to you then definitely get a 3rd gen.

Generally 2nd gens sell less than 3rd gens.

I have two 2nd Gens, and four 3rd Gens. I will sit here and tell you that I honestly wouldn't turn around for the difference. Of course, that is just me.

For clarification, I was asking about value difference so I should know if I need to ask for some cash with the gun...

How much cash should I ask for with the trade? $150?

I was just commenting on the differences in the 2nd Gen to 3rd Gen and how I like both generations equally the same.
