    glock crew holla

i joined the ranks today, picked up a G17 with 2 10rd mags, 1 17rd mag and 1 32 rd mag. it had a hogue grip on it, but i ripped it off on accident trying to take it off. i wasnt a fan of it anyways. i got a pretty good deal on it, it came with a holster too(ill probably never use it, i dont like it)

fuck i cant type today, yes i know it says cfew

used, good shape though. no scratches on it anywhere... there is a little wear on the slide release though. im guessing thats normal for a 5 year old gun. i think it was made in 01.

Cool. Mine's an '02 I think. What does your serial # start with? Mine's an E-series.

mine starts with an E to.

whats a good defense round, i bought some WWB from wally world, that shits cheap! i dont trust it for home defense though.

I came across some info on the internet, don't know if it is true or not, but it said there is a recall on all E-prefix Glocks, of every caliber. Something about the rear slide tabs :dunno:

It said Glock will replace the entire frame, free of charge, you just keep your slide and other components. I guess its something to look into. I haven't contacted them about mine yet... since I just read this last night.

I read it on handgunreview.com, I don't know if it is legitimate or not, but thought I'd pass the info on.

    http://www.handgunreview.com/make.asp?make=Glock

(Go to the bottom of the page, and then count up 7 reviews from the bottom, its in there.)

TL100Rsquid, you seem to be a good researcher... maybe you can dig something up on this? :x:

hmm, so which part would i have to send in? if its just the handgrip part, thats ok. im not going to send in the top if i have to reapply for a background check if they want to issue a new serial number for the entire gun.

i still want a nice 1911 really bad.

I'm pretty sure you just send in the frame. I'm almost positive they won't subject anyone to background checks if you already own the gun. I'm going to call Glock USA in Smyrna, GA on monday and see if this is legit. If so, why not get a new frame out of it? :bigthumb:

I haven't had any issues with my gun whatsoever... but they have recalls for a reason.

I buy WWB 100rd from Wally World too. Its the cheapest way to go.
For defense ammo... Hornady TAP & Federal HydraShok are good. I haven't ventured in that direction much... but I've been browsing websites for some good deals. Sooner or later I'll need to pick up at least a couple boxes for that "just in case" scenario. But for now, WWB gets the job done for moi.

Absolutely... if you're willing to shell out a good $100-$200, depending.

Winchester sells whitebox 147gr hollowpoint rounds for an allright price. I understand that the 147gr bullet overcomes many of the complaints about the 9mm cartridge.

It most definitely does. 124gr isnt too shabby either. But for personal defense in 9mm, 147gr is your friend.
