I'm looking to pick up my first handgun and after an extended number of visits to the range I've narrowed it down to the 34 or P226. I really enjoy the long slide and handling of the 34. For some reason, I had better groupings with the P226. Any ideas or takes?

I'm located in OC and does anyone have any good suggestions for a local gun store?

I find the trigger reset of the 226 to be far too long and can't stand shooting it. Ymmv.

But it can take a baseball bat hit with the bat hitting the cone first

the p226 is a super solid platform but I really enjoy the handling of the 34. Its really hard to explain. I feel the p226 is alot smoother.

The G34 is a awesome gun. With some trigger work and better sights it would be twice the gun the g226 can be. I really don't see the fascination with the sigs beside their rep. The trigger is long and more difficult to shoot faster and accurate. The magazine capacity is low. Magazine cost is expensive.

If I was looking for a all steel gun I would go CZ75. If I could only have one glock for competition it would be a G35

why do you prefer 40 over 9mm?? Its been a while since I've shot 40 and I can really recall too much of a difference. Hopefully I can find a decent deal around here. How are ammo prices nowadays?

Yea didnt see that last note :o

And its because 40 has a different scoring than 9 unless your running open 9mm major

i shot the glock 26 and the sig 225 today

even at bench rest, the aim seems way off for 7 yards :wtf:

    the 1911 was fine.

can i adjust those sights on my own?

    :noes:

I love my 226. By far the best gun Ive ever owned. Ive recently switched to a glock but mainly for compatability. Most of the ppl next to me use glocks and its always nice if they can pick up your gun and stuff their mag in it :p
