I just saw this on ufc.tv:

Based on that "eventually" I think he's gonna give Karo his shot first, and have Penn fight GSP:noes:

I'd put money on BJ Penn having the gold by end of '06.

Penn wouldn't have come back if he wasn't getting a title shot

No doubt, but do you think he's gonna get it right away?

penn is actually the champ imo...and the way i see this thing panning out...karo gets his shot first...loses...then St. pierre...st pierre has done more than enough for a title shot...then winner of st pierre/hughes fights penn

BJ manhandled Hughes in their match. like Baroni, as much as i don't like BJ's personality, i still like them in the ring

i'd say that BJ will have the belt if he's given a title shot in the next year as well, as long as he doesn't slack on his training and cardio again

he's kinda cocky. not overconfident, but just cocky. definitely not as bad as tito or baroni, but still thinks more of himself than he should

hughes si the type of guy that can smash BJ. Especially after he has already felt what he has to offer. and GSP is getting betterby leaps and bounds.

I hope they both kill BJ. If they lose I won't be surprised i just want them to beat BJ badly.

I was actually impressed with BJ when he fought gomi and hughes. In a rematch, not so sure if the same thing would happen.

I agree. Hughes looks better and better every time he fights, you can't really say the same of Penn.

And GSP deserves that title shot way more than Bj. He has now defeated 3 really good fighters since facing Hughes. Trigg only had 2 fights between his first match and rematch for the title.

Hughes just didn't seem like himself when he fought Penn. I think he'll give him a much better fight the next time.

I think BJ is a good fighter but i reckon there is 3 or 4 people who can beat him in the welterweight division

That's exactly how I feel. It's obvious that GSP and Hughes are better than him now.

BJ's cardio killed him, and to fight hughes he'd have to slim down again which should also help his game too

While I agree St. Pierre should have a title shot right now, I think they should reverse the matchup.

Karo has already earned a shot, and should get it as soon as he and hughes are well again.

Bj should have to fight someone before getting to Hughes, if he can get though GSP, then he has earned it.

    No.

First of all Karo isn't that good compared to GSP and BJ, and those two deserve the title shot more than him. GSP has shown time and time again that he deserves the fight after the Trigg, Sherk, etc... fights. BJ was the title holder until that bullshit occured and a lot of ppl think that he is still the true champ. I don't know if I would go that far though. Either way I think DOHchi is right on. Karo and BJ should fight for a title shot and GSP should be next in line against Hughes.
