    http://www.32countiesphoto.com

    couple things:

    1. it's not live yet, and yes, I know there are images missing.

    2. The contact form does not work yet.

    3. I 'borrowed' the pricing page from jcolman. I sent him a text to ask if that was cool, but he hasn't replied, and I just wanted some text in there temp.

    4. Only 2 galleries are up right now.

so give it to me. Web design is the bane of my existence.

Are you using two different colors of pink/beige on the top and bottom frames? The top one seems more pink than the bottom one and it's distracting me. Might be my shitty work lcd though :o

When scrolling through the galleries, is there any way to make it so there is an arrow you can click on to go to the next picture, so you don't have to go down and click on the individual thumbnail you want to see?

I don't like how it flashes "loading" while the pictures are loading. I think it'd look nicer if you left that out. These last two comments might not be changeable if you just used some prewritten code for the galleries.

Everything else is pretty nice and simple. Easy to navigate and the page loads fast.

Edit: even if the top and bottom frames are the same color, I don't like the beige/black/beige color setup. Can't explain why, I just don't like it.

    thanks.

The colors are actually tan/green, and they are consistent. While they appear that way on my monitor, i'm interested to see if more people see them like you do, and if so, i'll change them to something safer.

I've been struggling with the colors for this site for SUCH a long time. I have no clue what to go with... Open for suggestions from anyone...

I'll check on the 'next' button, I think that would be a great addition!

I see the green now...shows up very dark on my monitor. Actually only looks green if I view from an angle. Head on it looks black.

good to know. I'm interested to see how many people see it this way. I made it dark, but it's not supposed to be that dark.

But I wouldn't mind some other options for a color scheme either.... I'm definitely not locked in with the green/tan...

You must be in the process of tweaking it, because I'm not seeing anything but a blank cream colored page.

I wouldn't have noticed that the background was dark green, it is really dark. I like it.

The top and bottom border are more of a peach color to me, :dunno:

I agree with the need of an arrow to move to the next picture.

Also the transistion from one picture to the next is too flashy, Perhaps you could make it less drastic or vary it somehow from one picture to the next.

The site is fast which is a huge plus, i dislike flashsites that take long to load. Is this due to the file size of the pictures or your host? which host are you using?

It looks like Pink/Black/White in that order to me. Not a pure white...but close enough that it looks different from the top.

    thats weird.

    Using apple's digital colormeter, it's the same color: 255, 236, 210

    It's a tan...

plug in those #'s here, and tell me what color you see. and also, go into photoshop and plug em in and lemme know what you get...

On a side note, I think this is me definitely deciding to change the colors...

    Recommendations on a color scheme?

First impression, really not digging the green - seems relatively easy to navigate

Just my personal opinion, I hate when websites have a smaller viewing area than my resolution and then make you scroll like on the pricing page.

That's not even the word. You don't know how much photoshop it took to get her to where she is....

    (but her check cleared, so....)

    Thanks!

I actually am in the process of trying to extend the width of the middle area to make the pictures larger and the text easier to read, because that bothers me too...

I'm also looking for suggestions on a new color scheme, as the consensus is the green just ain't working...

I like the site for the most part. Is it possible to line up the '32 counties' with the other text? Right now the links are showing above the '32 counties'. Also, within the galleries section, the thumbnails are off center from the main image. Other than that, feels good man.

    Question:

I sent the template guys an email asking how I would increase the size of the main area to get more text and a larger image size into image, as well as reduce the size of the top/bottom bars...

They said they'd send me a new set of template files with a larger main box size for $25.

Would you pay $25 to go from my current template to this one:

    thoughts?

Oh, watch out! The sound is on in that one, which I had disabled. So check your speakers before you click.

on the second bigger option you posted the menu text at the top is MUCH clearer, on the original one you posted, the menu text looks like its a jpg that has been resized smaller and is very pixelated/hard to read. on my uncalibrated work monitor, the peach looks pretty pinkish, but the dark green is def green.

    So thats a 'yes' then?

Does the green/tan combo work for everyone, provided I fix the colors, or should I just change it up all together?

I like the color change. :bigok:

I noticed on the pricing page that when I'd use the mouse wheel to scroll, the scroll bar didn't move. (might be a firefox thing)

Clean, simple. I don't dig the big borders on top/bottom but they don't bother me at all.

how about arrows to navigate to the next picture as oppose to clicking on the picture itself.

btw who are you hosting through? the thing loaded up in an instant.

I'm trying to figure out how to edit the template to get the arrow. That would be awesome!

I have it hosted through namecheap. They've treated me pretty well and the site is fast... I'd recommend em, but I don't know what else is out there....
