i got a job offer in the oc, so i will likely relocate living arrangements and find a new school to train at.

    is this where you are?

yeah, i read up on the site for feitosa's school in lake forest.
except i didnt like the fact that they train nogi with their kimono pants on, and they require rash guards be worn under gi at all times. too many rules :o

does your school follow those same rules or is it different?

we are really laid back. of course you bow to the center of the mat when you step on and off, but other then that it's chill. The no gi class is for advanced students so i never have been. Just shorts and rash guard are what most guys seem to wear. WIth Gi you can go shirtless, with a shirt or rash guard.

ok. yeah, i noticed that they have rules as to how they allow students access to certain classes. beginners, then another class opens for 3 stripe whites, then another once you get to blue. weird.

the main guy at your school is mike buckels? he's a brown belt right???

yeah also a brown belt in judo. I was talking to him outside of class one day and he said if he had the time to be more focused on his Judo he would be a black belt by now. I think his next promotion in JJ is black belt.

the advance class is for 3-strip whites up. in the beginner class we still have a couple blues and purples that come.

still sounds like a tempting school, i havent shopped around much of whats around that area.
but you mentioned that pricing was like ~$80/mo ??
    is that for unlimited training?

I wish it was the cheap. Unlimited access is $150 a month. That doesn't include the Judo class since Mike doesn't teach it. Great school though, all the students help you out and want to help you improve. None of them are stuck up or aren't willing to help. Very positive attitude and the place feels like one big family.

seems like $100-150 is ubiquitous across southern cal.

    what belt level is he?

i feel at the level that i am, i can learn pretty much anywhere. no reason to fight so cal traffic when there is a place to learn within 30 minutes of anywhere out here.

they have free 2 week passes, you don't have a car though right? i go straight from work (5 minutes away) and barely make it on time or i wouldn't mind picking you up.
