How much did you find it for? Was it a refurb or used?

If you are interested in a D300 and a good lens to start off with, I bought mine from costco.com, 2 grand for a D300 and a 18-200mm VR nikon lens (normally an 800-900 dollar lens). Its a great deal if you are looking for both. If you just want the camera though, defintely check ebay, or fredmiranda.com as stated.

bought mine from Cameta back in Jan as a refurb unit, 1299. I had a $100 gift card to amazon so I paid 1199:wiggle:

    :bigthumb:

FYI - You should call Nikon with any refurb unit's s/n to verify that it is indeed a refurb. Even very highly rated camera stores mess up and soemtimes sell used ones as refurbs. Not sure if this is some industry wide scam or if it's just that easy to get things confused but it has happened to few people it seems :dunno:.

came in a grey box from Nikon factory

and since it's past the 90 day factory warranty it's no big deal, at this point if something goes wrong it's Cameta who's getting the phone call. But honestly, I've put almost 10,000 clicks on it since I got it and it's going strong. Loving it. Spent 6 hours this morning shooting AVP, and I'll throw another 1,000 on it tomorrow night shooting Roller Derby girls:bowdown:
