My cousin is over at my house and we are trying to set up ut2004 so we can play, this computer has already had it on it before...
But when we load up ut, the menu gfx are all messed up, as in distorted pictures, lightining, flashes, basically uplayable.... its like this on videos and other stuff

We've unistalled and reinstalled drivers for gfx card, and did system restore but we dont know wtf the prob is
    His computer is:
    AMD 2200+, 3dForce MX 4000 128MB, 512 RAM, Windows XP Home....

Any help is greatly appreciated so we can get this working before he leaves on saturday....

edit: if he changes the render device (in unreal torunament) from direct3d to software, it displays correctly but is laggy....

Maybe run dxdiag and check that you have the latest DirectX. That really doesn't sound like an answer to your problem, but I'm not sure what esle to check at this point. Do you have a choice to do OpenGL instead of D3D?
