she needs a lot of external storage i was looking at a drive that lacie sells that has the option of it being rackmounted in like a mini rack with upto 4 or 5 drives i think.. but i dont know if that brand is any good since ive had a lacie drive die on me.. i personally only use seagate drives so im kinda biased.Help me decided on an external drive for her mac that is stackable, or like "mini" rackmountable or something because ill probably buy her one and her mom will probably buy her one too so i want it to be something sorta expandable.

i think the MY Book with Firewire400/800 comes with USB 2.0 as well so you're covered in case you need to connect to a PC or something

we have a couple My Books, and honestly, i think those things suck...they're always kinda "slow" for some reason...

personally, I love the Porsche Design Lacie drives...

None of the apple computers have firewire 800 except for like half of the MBPs and the Mac Pros.

Yes, I'll just plug that right into my ESATA port on my MBP.

edit: I'm an idiot. I only read that he bought an ESATA case and SATA drive.
