GF afraid to lose her butt

    So I've been working out for years. My gf wanted to start eating healthier and exercising and started doing this a couple months ago.

    She's really petite, like 5'7" and 100 lbs, and she's afraid if she does anything like squats/stairclimber/cardio she's going to "lose her butt." I'm trying to convince her otherwise, but she gets very ornery when I try to tell her not to worry about it lol. She wants to get "shapely" legs like mine, but not like you can go for one and avoid the aforementioned "risk" :p

    Anyone with some helpful links/facts/before & after photos or stories/advice I could use?

    From what I have noticed is lifting/exercise does nothing but improve the quality of a female's posterior.

    I totally agree.

    She thinks that if she gets any muscle there, it's going to make it shrink and not be "cushy."

    Anytime it comes up and I try to gently tease her about it, she gets very defensive or resolute and there's no budging or convincing her lol.

    If I wasn't at work I would dig up a bunch of pics proving otherwise but it won't stop being "cushy" unless she gets super lean because iirc that's one of the last places for the fat to shed from.

    Sounds like she has the informercial menality - that toning a certain area will burn fat in that area.

    i guess it depends what you want...a phat ass, or a tonned ass.

    No disrespect, but she's not informed :o

    Educate her. If she loses anything it will be fat. Does she want to be 100 pounds and have a fatty ass?

    In any event, all the fitness models you see in magazines do squats (among other things) to GET that round ass. My wife has been squatting/doing lunges like mad for the past few months and her booty is :yum: round.

    I do sprints and lunges to keep my running up and knees strong, but I also lift a lot and do calisthenics.

    Hell, I have a bubble butt and I'm a white guy.

    It's frustrating, cause I just googled like half a dozen sites and workouts that all say the same thing--exercising does not "lose a cushy butt"...

    for once, why don't we just believe what the internet tells us lol?...

    Oxygen Magazine just had a special "butt" issue, you can probably get it for her from their website. A lot of ass-excercises. Also makes good bathroom reading when she is done with it :mamoru:

    That's not true in all cases, there's a point of diminishing return where a girls ass will become more flat than anything.

    Depends on the girls build though.

    Don't get me wrong, the majority of the time females see positive results (IME) but over the 4yr span I've been at my gym I've seen a few broads who's asses went down the shitter after they got serious in their training.

    What I've noticed they all had in common was the fact that they were all pretty petite to begin with.

    It was a shame to see petite girls with little round asses (high and tight I like to call it) and then they go fitness model status and their ass turns into a flat piece of shit. :hs:

    As a woman who has lost weight and has done a 11ty bazillion squats, I can tell you that the lift is absolutely incredible. It's like I have a totally new ass that I didn't think was genetically possible. It even fits better in my jeans.

    I think this might have something to do with muscle mass. I have seen muscular female fitness instructors at my gym and they have nicely shaped, perky butts. It's the very thin instructors with very little muscle that look like they have lost their butt.

    I don't have pics, but I can try to describe. My butt was pretty flat before, then it seemed to lift and become rounder on each cheek. Also around the back of the legs right where the leg meets the butt cheek, there was more of an indentation, more like a curve where there wasn't before. Also the sides of each cheek seemed to go in a bit, which I think is what made the jeans fit better.
    I was always ashamed of my flat butt, but after these changes, I felt pretty confident.

    You said you lost weight, were you overweight or did you just cut up a bit?
