Do you guys know if they still make it in white and if so where I can get it? I remember they used to have it at BH but now it's nearly impossible to find. If it's discontinued I'll just get the black one but I figured you guys would know. Also, I know it doesn't really vary but is there somewhere that it's a bit cheaper or should I just go to BH and pick it up (it's like a 45 min ride). I'm so excited :noes: This is the lens I wanted from the time I started photography

    b+H, adorama for new

fredmiranda.com you could find a used one for a few hundred cheaper

I buy most of my stuff used now. People involved in fredmiranda seem to all take good care of their stuff.

    I do.

I just got off the phone with my brother and he said he'll spot me a few hundred cause I don't have all of it yet. The reason I'm rushing it is cause the photographer I do lighting for told me he wants to get me shooting soon (weddings) and it's impossible to shoot one without that lens. I figured, I get into a little debt but I'll be getting paid 3-400 a day as a second shooter so I'll be able to pay them off quick.

With that being said I think I might just go pick it up tomorrow since BH is open 10-5 :noes::noes: A good way to start the year

Its not impossoble, just a little more challenging. The 28-70, *thats* a hard lens for me not to do a wedding with. Although the 2 primary lenses I used last wedding was the VR and the fiddy. :o

Yeah, as a second shooter my job would be more behind the scenes/photojournalistic so I feel like in this case the 70-200 should come first. The 24-70 I plan on getting by around Feb, in time for spring when weddings should pick up. 2008 was a good gear-year for me...not so much for my wallet.

there was problems on the D300 with that lens when the D300 first came out.

I think it's been solved though.

edit: didn't realize the question was about the 700, but I could see the 700 being worse than 300 with it's bigger sensor.

Whatever, I can deal with a little VG...if I hate it that much I can try to fix it in LR.
