I'm getting the same annoying pop-up that keeps popping up no matter what site I'm on. It's from www.endads.com and says the only way to eliminate it is to download their no-pop-up software (what a scam). Does anyone know how to find it on my system and delete it manually arther than download a pop-up elimination program?

    Thanks
    Jim

Did you run norton anti virus?

Sounds like you were browsing around in the warez section, accidently clicked Yes on a security download thingy :p

    Adaware might catch it.

Tried Adaware (caught a lot of potential problems but it didnt work for this pop-up)

I downloaded Google toolbar that is working well but the same pop-up still persists. It pops up with "messenger" in the heading. Any ideas?

Is the message you're getting not like regular pop ups you get from other sites? I was getting those windows messenger pop up similar to what you're describing.

Yes, the actual popup reads "Messenger Service" and when you hit "ok" it closes the box instead of going to the site.

If you are running XP go to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services, Messenger then click Stop. See if this takes care of them. It worked for me.

You need to disable the service, not simply stop it - it's on the same screen. On a side note, do yourself a favour and download ZoneAlarm - this wouldn't have happened if you had a firewall in place.

I have a firewall using norton internet security. Not sure how it made it through.

I would be talking to Norton about that one - there is no need for that port to be open to the internet. And because that port is open, I'm concerned there are others that could be more than just annoying.
