    FUCKING awesome.

I seriously wasn't sure about seeing it until recently and I was blown away. Very well done. Hilarious. Eye opening......Unless you are religious

Underwhelming for me. It's a movie making fun of religion for the layman.

Nah. Boring, mostly. Only interesting or insightful to the layman. Cracks a few jokes. Forgot what they were. Must not have been funny enough to remember.

And I was looking forward to this one.

Eh... it was okay. I agree with Paraprakrti. Maher didn't make that many goods point, he was just insulting people for the most part. And the ending was ridiculous.

I'd recommend "The Root of All Evil?" by Richard Dawkins if you want a more serious critical look at religion and theism.

i feel like you and parap missed the point... it was meant to be an insult. if you say its ridiculous he succeeded. It did a great job at what it was made for which was insult religion and appeal to the masses. it wasn't meant to be an extremely informative documentary, because people who want to take a more serious critical look at religion and theism will watch richard dawkins, thats already covered.

still have to finish it. (i was at work so i didn't get through all of it) it was mildly interesting but so far it just seems like he's making fun of extremists and not the religion itself, although im less than 20 minutes in

The film was obviously trying to be somewhat of a balance between humor and a serious analysis of world religions. I wasn't expecting deep insight, but the movie made humor that alluded to only the most unintelligent religious fanatics. Then it attempted to end on a serious note as if to imply the religions themselves were the problem. The movie wasn't horrible and I wasn't offended by it at all. It just wasn't that good.

i thought it was kind of abrasive to watch. I guess thats his style, but i think it would have been better had there been logical debates on religion, instead of mostly insults.

Being a critic of religion myself, I enjoyed the movie... but I can't say that it would be the same for everyone. I think Dawkins might have been more fit to do this film in some areas, but then again, I liked how Maher doesn't subscribe to any belief including atheism, or as he puts it "preaching the gospel of 'I don't know!'"

I enjoyed it, being an atheist. It does make you angry by the end of it. But it's nothing I didn't already know. And Maher is bias so it's not a balanced documentary by any means. I was entertained.
