I've been doing the Bill Star 5X5 for about 11 weeks now and have hit a sticking point with my bench press and rows. I'm still able to up the weight for squats and deadlifts so those are going well. My question is, for those that have done the 5X5 for a long period, what has worked best for you to overcome the plateau? Did you follow the suggestion of backing the weight down to a level 4 or 5 weeks back and then build up again? Will working with the lower weight assist in overcoming the plateau when I hit that point again? Should I just stick with the weight I'm using until I can complete the 5 reps with full range of motion and proper form?
