Ok, I will be getting a new handgun for concealed carry within the next month or so, and want your guys' opinions. Sorry but this will be a bit long.
Right now I have an astra 9mm which I use for concealed carry, and a Glock 22 for work. I need something reliable of course, and small while still having a good 3 finger grip.

I'll be going with 9mm and here are my top contenders

Glock 19 - Reliable as hell, and super simple, but I've never liked the grips. And could be a bit smaller.

S&W MP compact - Looks & feels great, and I hear it shoots very good. But I've already read about a lot of problems, it is a new design.

Kahr K9 SS - Feels very sturdy & well made, but I don't know a whole lot about them, nor am I sure they are worth the extra couple hundred.

    Experiences with these or similar?

Out of your choices, Glock, couple others you may want to consider P99, Steyr. I have the fullsize P99, the compact ones are pretty nice, mine have been just as reliable as my Glocks and have better grips.

26 seems too small, even with the ext mag it just feels a little wierd. The 19 felt ok, but it's a good deal larger than the S&W or Kahr. I'm skinny so I really want the right size. That's what's nice about the Kahr, small & very thin while still nice to hold.

So do you think you'll be walking around and complaining that the Glock 26 is just too small, light, and reliable? I think not.

You should carry at home what you carry at work, or at least something that is operated the same way.

My father bought a Kahr PM9 today, and we went through the task of breaking it in with a few hundred rounds. It shot really good, and I can hit a coke bottle at 30 yards with it. I would recomend one of them.

The Colt is going for like, $800 on GB so you should be able to get it for somewhat less. I want one. :)

No problems? And how long have you had it?
I've read about the magazines falling out of them, and other frequent failures. I would really like to hear good about them.

walther p99c - just a little more than a glock but with a way more comfortable grip.

a little less then a month :( . no problems with mine though, i think the magazines falling out are either because people don't have them inserted all the way, you really have to slap them in good to get them to click and lock into place, or the mag release button is right under where your thumb goes on your firing hand, so maybe when they are shooting, they are bumping it :dunno:

No it's definately a design defect because I've been reading about it alot. Which sucks because it's the most appealing gun to me. Everyone says their customer service is great, but I need a gun that's going to shoot when I need it to.

Here's some good examples of the problem. http://mp-pistol.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=5403&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

There also seems to be other problems plaguing many owners.
