I can't eat enough calories in a day. My job barely allows me to go to the restroom, let alone eat much during the course of a day. Even with a relatively large breakfast and dinner (though I hate eating a lot of food in the evening), I am taking in about 900 calories a day, MAX. I'm thinking some sort of shake will be a good way to squeeze at least 700 more calories in each day, but I don't know what to get. Do I want a protein powder (I'd opt for soy vs. whey?) or a whole meal replacement type powder? I workout most mornings with an hour of cardio and some weight training or swimming here and there, and am on my feet, running around, lifting, etc. all day, plus I'm trying to lose weight but as soon as I started this job and became unable to take in enough cals, my progress halted. My guess being that my body's in starvation mode? Anyhow, any suggestions would be great.

Re-read post? I don't have time to EAT. I can drink while monitoring surgery, recovering a patient, etc. I cannot eat during those times, which account for about 9 hours of my day.

    1) got to mcdonalds and pick up a large milk shake. This is over 1000 calories.

2)go pick up a bunch of tacos or burritos or something

    3)dip burritos in milkshake.

There you have it. over 2000 calories in one easy meal. And then when you get home, grab a jar of peanut butter and a spoon and get to work. When small asian girls eat way more than you, just shove everything you can get your hands on in your mouth in the time available to you.

    Drink this shake:
2 scoops whey protein (I use ON Vanilla Ice Cream)
    .5 cup ground oats
.5 cup Dannon Light & Fit Vanilla yogurt
    1.5 cups skim milk
    2 tablespoons milled flax seed

683 clean calories, 75 grams protein, good carbohydrates, etc. etc. etc. Tastes excellent as well.

The shake I described above can get much closer to 1000 (around 950) by doubling the oats, the yogurt, and adding another tablespoon of flax seed. That should keep the taste and consistency balanced out appropriately. A banana would be excellent in there also, and would probably get you to 1000.

    12oz milk
    2 scoops chocolate whey
    1 cup oats
    4 tbsp natty pb
    1 banana

1000+ calories, 70+g protein, lots of good fats and carbs, tastes like heaven, takes like 3 minutes to make.

That's my usual breakfast when bulking

If I were trying to bulk my shakes would consist of 2 scoops of Whey, 1/2 a cup of oats, 4tbs of peanut butter, and fill with whole milk to whatever consistency your looking for and whaalaa. Gonna be a lot of cals in that mofo, probably 75g or so of protein, carbs, and good fats.
