I have a Treo 700wx with Sprint. I have unlimited data on my plan and check my email, myspace, read news stuff on my phone already. I have the necessary software set up on my laptop to plug it in and get the internet to my computer. I've tested it and it works. My question is, does it cost any more to do it this way?

No. If you have the unlimited data plan, you can use your phone as a tethered modem for any laptop or desktop. My 8125 has the software for it. Use it all the time when I want to browse to something NWS at work.

Of course that is for Cingular/AT&T. Sprint may be different. Just check with Customer Service.

every carrier is different. verizon doesn't allow it, but won't say anything as long as you stay under a few gigs a month. even then, they usually will warn you
