I store an abnormal amount of fat on my stomach. Love handles, belly, etc. The thing is, I don't have fat anywhere else.

I've been watching my diet closely since August of 06, and working out regularly.

My routine used to consist of waking up at 5:30 to hit low intensity cardio (HR around 150) for an hour, going to work, and then hitting the weights in the evening. I kept that up from August to December, and then hit a promotion which caused me to work later than normal.

I switched it up again to lifting 5x a week, followed by 30 min cardio.

    Things I've noticed:

    - weight has pretty much maintained; I started out at 189, and now fluctuate in between 175-180.

    - I've definitely gained muscle mass; arms, chest, back, shoulders, etc are quite a bit bigger, and I am lifting heavier.

    - fat loss seems to be happening on arms/ chest / face, but my stomach is still the *exact* same size.

This is usually what I have to eat on a daily basis:

    - steel cut oats w/ splenda
    - banana
    - apple
    - orange
    - english muffin
    - sandwich on whole wheat - avocado, sprouts, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, pepperjack cheese
    - soup
    - 3x whey/water
    - salads

it seems as though i store ALL my fat on my stomach! I by no means *look* fat, but when the shirt comes off...its just pissing me off :( I'm 5'11'', 178 lbs (today), and....am getting discouraged. I do understand that it takes time to get in shape, but I would have figured i'd lose SOME fat off of the stomach by now!

any thoughts would be much appreciated....I hate being skinny-fat. :(

    No protein.

Try low carbing. Of course.. that leaves you with.. like nothing in your diet, considering its all carb heavy.

75-100g. I've heard to build lean muscle you need about 1g protein/lb body weight....?

    Needs an overhaul.

I would up your protein to 200-225 for starters.

Dump the soup. Dump the english muffin.. add lean meats, eggs, fish to your diet (even on your salad).

    Cottage cheese is great...

That explains why you don't have meats in there..

Dairy..cheese..whey.. eggs (if you eat eggs, i know some veggies dont).. Don't forget about your healthy fats too..

    Whey will be your hero.

Nothing wrong with coffee, I drink it every day in the morning. You can get more protein by consuming more protein shakes instead of meat. Cottage Cheese and other dairy is a good source as well. I would suggest staying away from soy protein though.

Nope. Caffeine is a great little metabolism booster. Keep drinking.

As you may already know, you can't target fat.

Usually when I drop some weight, the absolute LAST place I start to notice it getting gone from is my love handles. And when I'm trying to gain weight the very FIRST place it starts building up is my love handles. It's just the way some of us are made. :hs:

Also, you may be losing fat from your stomach, but it's not happening as quickly as it is in other spots so it doesn't appear like there's a difference.
