Getting buff without protein...

    I use to work out a lot and got pretty big (190 lean). i took in a lot of protein along with just crap like fast food. i have a high metabolism.

    i stop working out for 2+ years now and got tiny (140 lean).. mainly because i got depressed, dranked a lot, drug usage, and only ate like once or dont eat at all.. i have a very small appetite.

    Im starting to think that you can get big without excessive protein, just eating a lot in general will do the job for some gifted people like me. If you think about it, prisoners get big in jail and all they eat is starch and very little protein.

    So starting next week, im going to start working out and dieting without taking a buttload of protein and see how it goes. Mainly just rice, pasta,beans, potatoes, greens ofcourse, eggs, sausage, fat ground beef, hamburgers, salami, chicken breast (just because its cheap as hell), and fast food at least once a day.. Nothing fansy like protein shakes, lean steaks, tuna, meat only meals, and such.. just like normal persons diet but 4-5x a day.

    cliff: use to be hella buff off protein, think protein is not that important, going on a normal person diet with just normal food, work out, see where it goes.

    How is protein not important when it is the building blocks of muscle? That just makes no sense.

    yeah..like you said, eating a lot in general = taking in lots of protein.

    protein is important, i dont really understand what youre trying to say here :hs:

    You're a fucking idiot, I can't believe you came in here with this shit.

    If you really want to test this ludicrous theory of yours, limit your protein intake to .5g/lb of bodyweight for 3 months, while consuming a substantial amount of fats and carbs to keep your caloric intake to roughly 4000 calories/day.

    Do it. I double fucking dog dare you. We'll see how much lean mass you "gain"

    no plans on being 190 again, that was just too much work/maintenance.. 160 is my goal.

    what im really trying to say is im going to try to gain lean muscle without crazy amounts of protein like i did before.

    around .75g/lb but im not gonna count. not going to count calories/fat either, just eat like average joe + more.

    Well, since lean body tissue isn't built from protein or anything...you don't need any. All you need is 5000 cal a day of saturated fats and you will get hyuuuuge!!!!!

    Hmmm I think you're on to something. Ever notice how ethiopians are so ripped? I think I might go on the 100-cal/day diet - hell, it works for them!

    With the protein prices going up, I am about to ditch it all together and come up with more inexpensive food alternatives for meals.
