I know mine goes a day and some with light to moderate use, but then again my phone is hooked up in my car for music so it's charging while I drive. The only time I drain the battery is on weekends when I ride my motorcycle and I play tunes. Even then it'll go all day.

Mine lasts 2 days for normal use.
1 day or less if I'm on it a whole lot. I usually just charge it every night even tho its still at like 40-50%

The new iPhone will quite possibly have different (better or worse) battery life than the current iPhone since the new one will almost certainly have 3G data capabilities. If you're super concerned about battery life, the latest iPhone 2.0 beta software reportedly has the option do disable 3G to preserve battery life.

...also, Cingular doesn't exist anymore, so you'll be switching to AT&T. :)
