getting a high vertical

    could anybody please tell me the best way to get a good vertical for basketball season (weights, plyometrics, isometics, etc. etc.)

    Back in my sub 200 lb days, I got a good amount on my vertical by just squatting/pulling and overall getting stronger, along with playing all the time.

    BTW, if you've waited this long, you are shit out of luck.

    Yeah im 130 pounds 5'8" i can dunk on a 9 and a half foot goal just not 10 foot yet

    Now, theres no way im advising this, but my uncle was on the olympics team for high jumping... what those fuckers used to do was juped out of their squat... like you go atg, and then, when ur knees are fuly out, those fucks would jump like with 400 lbs on their backs.. i know its fucked, when i ehard that i was like holy shit... hardcore... its drunk o clock'

    Man i was way too drunk when i posted that, my apologies. But ya, they did jump like 350+, cant place a figner on what weight he told me, and this was back in soviet russia so its do or die.

    if you want to do some plyometrics, try using a bosu ball. you can use those balls for all sorts of other exercises

    i couldn't find the search button so I'll just post here to make sure... I've heard both sides of the story saying weight lifting stunts growth and that weight lifting doesnt stunt growth I'm 15 years old and I just want to make sure I will reach my full potential height? so go on med/heavy weight training or no go?

    Do your compound lifts. Deadlift and squat obviously build your legs and get them to create more force while the upper body stuff gives you more velocity to swing your arms with, thus forcing you upwards faster.

    Don't buy any programs, don't do a million calf raises, just be patient and keep going.

    It won't stunt your growth either, and stop asking random questions about trying to build fast twitch muscle fibers.

    I asked one question about how to build fast twich muscle fibers and i fail to see how that one question is random

    Because people have already told you their opinions. Nobody mentioned fast twitch muscle fibers. My point was really that you shouldn't get too caught up in the little things and just worry about lifting.
