Does anyone know what the difference between national and regionally accredited schools are? I am planning on working towards a degree from University of Maryland - Okinawa, but I don't want to earn a degree that won't transfer anywhere. I've read about other schools not accepting non-accredited degrees, but what is better? National or Regional accreditation?

I'd assume by the entire country, but I keep reading that a nationally recognized degree isn't as good as the other one. I'm so confused, but I don't want to work my butt off for a degree that doesn't mean anything or won't transfer to another school if I needed it to.

The University of Maryland is a pretty good school. A lot of military have their degrees from UM. Go for it.

from my knowledge, the nationally accredited degree is from schools such as University of Phoenix, Devry, and those types of schools.

    Regional > National

Regional is much more strict than national standard.
