And was wondering what i should put on it... Right now i have a 80gig 7200rpm ata133 8mb cache that is full... and the one iam getting is a 300gig 7200rpm ata133 16mb cache.

It probobly doesn't make a difference, but what should i put on each drive? For example, i was planning on using the 300 to put all my music, videos, pictures, etc on.. And on the windows drive keep all my programs and games on it?

any input? or am i overthinking this?

Dude, it's a hard drive... a storage device.

But yes, if I had two drives I would set them up that way.

That's the same kind of setup I have. Just bought me a 74 gig 10k rpm raptor for the OS and programs, then I got a 160 gig seagate for storage.

Like above, I always keep a rather small boot drive and then a huge second drive for data.

I keep my home directory on my 200GB western digital and everything else on my 40GB Maxtor.

My computer will have Seagate SATA drives, I've had good experiences with them at work lately.

I have 80gb 10K drive for OS and programs and 200GB drive for music, movies, etc. Nice because if you want to reformat OS you dont loose anything!

is that supposed to be a question or a statement? the way you have that question mark hangin off the end of your second sentence makes it very unclear.

Sorry. Usually I'm pretty clear. No, that wasn't a question. Replace that '?' with a :dunno: and we'll be good to go.
