German cars > (American + Japanese)

I'm convinced of this now. It took me a while to admit this. Perhaps I didn't want to believe it, but it's true. German cars, for the most part, are better. Yes, they're a lot more expensive, but they try a lot harder in the design. The styling is usually clean and subtle.

If you disagree, you're probably one of the following:
    • Hardcore Patriotic American.
    • Azn with too much azn pride.
    • Inexperienced at life.

I'm not going to purchase a car any time soon, but I'm pretty sure where my money is going next time around.

I would have agreed two years ago, but after seeing all the German manufacturers move towards horrendous styling and overrought electronics for even the simplest of features, I'd have to say the U.S. and Asians produce better cars for the money.

If price is no object, then I agree. You probably can't do any better than a very high dollar German car like a S-Class, Maybach, etc. for the best quality, quietest, tightest car.

    That's why my old man wanted a '01 7-Series a few years ago. :o

:nono: Not completely. I had thought Audi was going the "iDrive" route like BMW and Mercedes, but their system is going to be a LOT more user-friendly. They were the smart ones waiting for the first two to make their mistakes, then learn from them.

And VAG will always be the styling king in Germany. :wiggle:

Consumers Union says Korean cars are more unreliable than American.

Okay, I was just wondering, I was under the impression that Hyundia had gotten pretty reliable and is finally starting to make a decent car, but I guess thats not true, eh.

Elantra is a fantastic car for the price, and the Tiburon is a great sports car, but the reliability of this duo is sorely lacking.

They give you that guarantee because you're GUARANTEED to need it.

I'm not too happy with the VW, but then again I got it to get from point A to point B since I have another car to enjoy when I want to go from A to B very, very quickly :o

My next car will either be a BMW or a new Porsche :hs:

The build quality may be great, but the materials and styling are both horrendous. The powertrain smoothness just isn't as 'natural' for the Lexus either.

To each their own. But give me the choice, and I'll take the S-class anyday (and I don't even like Benz).

I find the materials far superior in the Lexus... the Merc has better looks though, for sure.

I would take the Merc too, unless I had to maintain it.
