i never shot at aquarium before, but do you use polarizer to minimize reflection/glaze from glass? is it a must have when taking aquarium pics?

Nope...in my experience there is not enough light to waste on a polarizer....you need every little bit to get decent shutter speeds. Specially if the subject is moving at all.

kit lens (efs 18-55mm) and the lighting is so odd in every room you really have to play around with the settings.

the tanks aren't glass and i rarely used the flash so there wasn't really a problem with reflection/glaze. i just had to position myself in a way that the picture wouldn't capture me. believe me, i was there for a good 3 hours so i had plenty of time to figure it out. :mamoru:

    curious, use a polarizer?

wonder if a polarizer would be effective while using flash, or if flash would even be effective through glass and water, i doubt it

If the water is reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally clean you could put your flash against the glass. (not the onboard one)

how big is that aquarium, would it be like a whole day thing? I've been thinking of flying down there with my g/f to see it. That whale shark is awesome.
