What do you guys think about energy drinks? Do you think they are good or bad, and why? I have to present a topic for class and just wanted to see what you guys think. i have to talk about a "hot topic." something in the news. i saw an article on redbull being linked to causing gastric ulcers. I'm trying to understand why energy drinks are being targeted by the media. Thanks.

I think a caffeine pill + vitamin B12 pill is a lot cheaper. It doesn't taste as good though.

Personally I think they are a waste of money. You should have enough energy from sleeping enough and eating correctly.

    Energy Drinks: Friend or Foe?

We all know energy drinks give you energy, but is that shit good for you? Who the fuck knows? There are chemicals and shit in there, energy ones. Science tells us that chemicals will turn you into an animal that fights crime like a ninja turtle or spider man, but energy drinks might not have that kind of chemicals. This paper will consider the evidence about energy and if it is good or what. You will be the one to decide on this after I give you the cold hard energy facts.

Michael Phelps drinks that shit to train, motherfucker won all the gold medals. What the fuck do you think about that shit?

In conclusion energy drinks are delicious as fuck and will make you energetic and fast and win at all kinds of fucking shit. Peace.

they're OK in moderation, but relying on caffeine for energy = bad.

Energy drinks are my last resort...like if I find out I have a 3 hour drive late at night, or I am stone cold out of preworkout supps, and even then I choose one with low to moderate carbs...I hate aspartame so I try to avoid that

I think that overconsumption is really the issue, like 3-4 a day...I am getting an ulcer just thinking about it

When I'm feeling tired and have ran out of pills, I'd opt for the sugar free red bull 20 min before working out

I use energy drinks when I am flat out running on empty. Otherwise, I use nothing. That shit affects my sleep anyways, so I try to stay away from them as much as possible.

if you know your physiology well enough, you will know how some of those drinks can be applied correctly to your diet

sodium, for example, can be essential for intracellular fluid volume, based on your intake of potassium

sometimes it's not about a "sugar rush", as a lot of those drinks use fructose as a source of sugar, which is actually a medium GI sugar and doesn't cause a "sugar rush" like you may think

every individual has a different intake pattern and could find a way to integrate an energy drink, so a blanket statement like " They are bad for you" is entirely inaccurate

Rely on caffeine for energy for 2-3 months, then stop cold turkey and you'll see what I mean when you're in bed for 2 weeks.
