geetting rid of a partition

    i have an old HDD which i don't need the files on and i have put it into a enclosure, it works great, but the drive was partitioned from the computer it used to be in. i have formatted the drive, but the partitions still exist. the drive is formatted to FAT32 standards. help anyone??

    formatting will not remove partitions. you need to use fdisk to remove all partitions on the drive THEN format it.

    fdisk is usually run from a boot disk, but since your doing it on a different (non master im assuming) drive, you should be able to do it without having to boot to a disk....or you could partition magic, should you happen to have it.
