LGBT Gay Literature....Poppy Z Brite

  1. Has anyone read any of her stuff? If you haven't I suggest you do. She writes mainly vampire and horror fiction around mainly gay characters (or at least, these are the only relationships she goes into detail on). The way she writes is fantastic, so beautifully descriptive. It feels like you could be there.

Lost Souls is about vampires. The relationships between the cute little Nothing and his various friends seems to sweet and innocent. And the other vampires, they are devilishly gorgeous!

Exquisite Corpse despite being about two serial killers descibes them in a light where you start to feel sorry for them...sort of. Both are just looking to be loved. A sad story of HIV, death, the limits of pain and various degrees of love down in the deepest New Orleans.

    **will update with Drawing Blood**

what, have you never seen Interview with the Vampire? We never really discover the sexual leanings of any of the characters.

...that's actually a huge genre. I'm always being sent some book or another about gay vampires via my gay book club.

  5. You do in some of her other books though, especially The Vampire Armand

    Gay vampires are the best

Wormwood is an AWESOME book to get started on. It's a collection of short stories, and all of them are really cool!
