Looks interesting!! I have been thinking of changing one of my majors to social work, this would look good on a resume since I want to help GLBT youth!

Hmmm I don't think the b/f would like that too much :o But I think it would be interesting to do this as a counselor for a summer.

I'd be too afraid they'd tell us to hit the showers then gas us.

i work with some queer groups on campus here at UCSB - which in turn works closely with the Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity (RCSGD).

This past summer the first annual Youth Advocacy Leadership Institute (YALI) was held. It was a week long AMAZING "camp" of sorts to help youth deal with and explore a variety of queer issues. It is the only camp of its kind. The site gives the best description - I knew most of the counselors and would have been a counselor myself had work not gotten in the way :(

Anyway - the cost is FREE - thats the best part :) Im sure even transportation will be covered for those who are coming long distances to attend. (one of the benefits of a large campus putting something lke this on - there is a lot of community support and many grants to be had to pay for this type of thing :))

it is aimed at junior/senior level high school students - if you fit the criteria, check out the website or contact me and i can put you in touch with the right people. :big grin:

Lake Wenatchee is absolutely gorgeous. I used to ski there when I was little.

i agree with jordan04, if not gas then what? rabid bears? or just not even try to hide it. chase everyone down with rifles. though it does look pretty awsome
