Has anyone seen this? How is it in your personal opinion?

    I'm pretty sure that's Kabuki.

I have the first two DVDs. I think the story starts to pick up right at the end of the 2nd disc, but I haven't watched past there.

It looks like a conglomeration of a bunch of different anime themes, and very little originality. There's military themes, supernatural themes, giant robot themes, overbearing family themes, global conspiracy themes, etc.

I can't judge the series as a whole since I haven't finished it yet, but it could end up a lot better than it starts out.

The deal with the kabuki dance, as I understand it, is some kind of psychic battle. The two main characters (who seem to be almost direct ripoffs of Shinji and Rei) are the two performers/combatants.

:werd: That's my problem with it. It's like they tried to copy NGE by being a serious mech drama, but it just ended up looking cheesy. And can they make the foreshadowing any more blunt and obvious.
