So Ive been out of the loop on collecting Garand shit and what not.

I came across this on what Im assuming is an unfinished receiver. From the lot number it's an IHC. Worth anything or can I just throw it in the scrap pile?

It's probably not REALLY worth anything but knowing how crazy some garand guys are I bet you could find someone willing to pay you a lot of money for it, thereby making it worth a lot of money... Just have to find that person.

How did you come by it?

I got it years ago when a man by the name of Jim Leatherwood would come by our office with tons of shit for sale.

Jim worked for the US Army as a developer in sniper scopes in Vietnam and later into the 70s and 80s. He always had cool shit to sell and I got this in a box of junk from him.

You got it from Jim Leatherwood, the developer of the ART scopes?

That bit of history alone would make it worth more to the right person.

It'd be a sweet paperweight done right. If its not worth anything I'll pick it up off of you.

It's a "postage stamp" receiver made by SA for IHC

actually it's not there is not a heat lot number so it's an IHC made by IHC

the drawing number is listed on page 91 #110

D6528291-N has a N/A for heat lot, and since there is no heat lot stamp it's an IHC made by IHC, if there were a heat lot stamped it would have been an IHC made by SA
