I asked this in the main part to no avail....

Was trying to play battlefield vietnam over the network the other day but fuck all was happening. Couldnt see the game that the other computer was hosting. So i tried buggering off the router and hooked the 2 computers up directly (with a cross over cable) but still no luck.

Is it possible that the windows firewall crap is being useless and messing it up?

    Any other ideas?

Windows Firewall is uaully the culprit of this. We had the same problem tryin to play a game of quake4 and Unreal Tournament 2k4. Im to lazy to set anything, so we just disabled the firewalls. Worked fine after that.

Make sure there isnt another firewall(i.e. Norton internet security, mcafee internet security, zone alarm, etc)
