not really, it's a little more than every 2 hours including sleep

most full time jobs will give you a 15 min break every 2 hours + a lunch, that's plenty of time to squeeze in 3 meals. Eat before and after that's 5 meals. A couple more meals before bed and you're set

does anyone else find it confusing that they say carbs+protein causes insulin spikes..., I've always been told that protein releases glucagon - the yang to insulins yin

Protein usually releases both. BCAA for instance is highly insulinogenic.

    Ahh, I didn't realize that...interesting.

So maybe someone who has read about the zone diet could tell me why then that would be effective in controlling your insulin/glucagon levels? Does fat effect your insulin sensetivity that well?

I tried the original Cut Diet for a bit, but it was too meticulous and I eventually fell off it.

It is very difficult for a college student on a budget.

    It's nothing special really.

They only list food/meal recommendations so that it is easy and strict to follow. Most dieters really just need regimen more than anoything.

If the food options don't work for you, just keep the macro's the same and you should get similar results. Don't use poor choices though. Obviously subbing gummy bears for fibrous veggies to get your carbs is not gonna work.
