    I'm 170 5'11....I'm a skinny shit.

By just purely lifting weights, will I gain mass? Do I need protein drinks and stuff of the sort?

I'm a complete weight lifting n00b. I worked out maybe twice in my life, but I'm starting.

Need to get buff for the college chicks next year :naughty:

you wont get buff that quick. if you are lifting for chics you will not be lifting in 6 months. to gain weight, eat more, simple concept.

I eat more than anybody I've ever met in my entire life...seriously. People are amazed...I just never seem to gain weight

    Any specific foods to eat?

and 6 months would be absolutely perfect timing :bigthumb:

well slow down on the fast food. stick to your basics on food but just have to eat a lot of it. There are ways to clean bulk and dirty bulk. really depends on what you are looking to get out of it.

    5'11" 170 isn't skinny by any means.

^This is what EVERY skinny person says.

You may think you eat a lot, but really you have no idea.

Stolen from a better source of information...

"Your metabolism is fast. Thus you need to stay away from the foods that burn fastest. Sugars, starches (which are metabolised the same as sugar), high saturated fatty foods (too much dairy and fried foods, pizza is a no no, as is pretty much all fast food you would normally eat).

You need to replace starched with whole grains. Anything brown instead of white. Brown rice, wheat bread, wheat pasta, etc. Also, more leafy green vegetables. These will regulate your thyroid and slow down your metabolism enough to store some protein. Take protein but don't overdo it, you can only absorb so much at once (usually around 35g per hour, if you want to double-serve you can but over the course of two hours). What usually works for my clients is eating better, and using the protein between meals as well as during. During meals in the form of meat (low in fat, white meat chicken and turkey, lean steak, fish, etc), and between in the forms of bars or shakes unless you're willing to crack and down a can of waterpacked Tuna.

Also stay away from too much sodium, salt.

    lunch: chicken fingers and fries
dinner: fast food, pizza, chicken, veal..... interchangably

that's all practically just crap, and doesn't sound like a lot at all. Unless each meal is like 20 chicken fingers, 3 x-large pizzas or something of the sort.
