I searched and all i came up with was garbage and a bunch of mixed answers.

I am 5'11", and weigh roughly 135 lbs.

I've always been skinny and have never been one to work out.

I'm dead set on gaining weight, and getting toned. I don't want to look like a body builder.

I quit smoking, so that will definitely help. I did a calorie calculator and found out that my calorie intake should be 3100+ a day. So i'm working on that.

My main question is, what kind of supplements should i take to gain weight? Creatine? Whey protein?

I work out very little, and don't have any desire to get ripped. Just healthy looking. Should I atleast be running and doing push ups, pull ups etc etc?

    Thanks in advance. :bigthumb:

well if you just eat a shitload and dont workout you will become, what is referred to around here as, skinny fat.

If you want to look lean and healthy go to the gym atleast 3 times a week and get on a basic routine. Theres no point in taking supplements if you arent really going to work hard.

eat. Don't worry you could work out hard for the next 3 years and not look anything like a bodybuilder.

edit: I just noticed you said "toned"

different types of lifts for every body part. Since you seem like you dont want to dedicate yourself probably like 6 workouts per day. Back/bi's, shoulder/legs, chest/tris.

know what, read the stickies. You have a shitload of questions and the stickies will answer them all.

Ok, it does not happen like this...
    1- start training
    2- wait 4 weeks
    3- look like bodybuilder
    4- profit

What really happens is you train as though you are going to be a bodybuilder or (very nice physique goal) and maintain the physique you want when you reach it.

Read the stickies and play particular importance to the nutrition threads.

Read the "for anyone wanting to look like a bodybuilder" thread and if you wake up in 3 weeks and look like Arnold, come back and I will give you a refund.

If you eat well, train well, you can gain 25+ pounds in a year.
If you approach it with the attitude "oh, i dont want to get too big", then chances are you will not reach your goal in the quickest time possible.
