Gaining 2 lbs a week?

  1. I'm at 220 and my goal is 235 to 240. If I gain 2 lbs a week for 8 weeks.

    Is this reasonable? Or am I going to run into problems?

    most of it will be fat and bloat.

    you can only build muscle so fast. even 1 lb per week would mean 52lbs of muscle in a single year. That's simply not realistic. For a natural, after your first year of training, 10-15lbs of muscle in a year is very good progress.

    if you want to minimize fat gains i'd shoot for 1lb on the scale every 2 weeks. If you want faster results and don't mind some extra fat, then do 1lb per week.
     
  5. Ok, I did one pound last week. But I'll try to lower that because if the weight is mostly fat then it wont mean much

    1 lb a week is solid and quality, befor you know it you will be seeing awesome gains. Take pictures, measurements and all that shit and you will really witness first hand how much it helped to be patient. I have been bulking a month and a half now and have put on 11 lbs but it is solid mass, with minimal fat gains although with any bulk I did put some on.

    Heres the thing. Gaining isn't linear like that, some weeks you will gain 3 pounds, and some weeks you will stay constant. It can't be entirely planned like that, you just gotta give your body what it needs to grow and let time/mother nature do its thing.

    ^^ what he said. I sometimes dont gain my 1-2 lbs/week, but at the end of the month the target weight still comes around somehow.

    I put on 1.5-2lbs a week for my first 5-6 months, although a decent amount was fat.
