I hope you aren't referring to my link where a single 3.06 or a dual xeon 2.4 handled the DUAL 1.42 of the MAC.
If you'll read, the only reason they went that route, is MAC doesn't have out a 3ghz chip to go even. No problems.

The G5 will fall just the same.

EDIT - please also note the reason for testing the xeons was that it can be had for less than the Mac and they had them on hand

    you guys are sooo dumb.

you cant get DUAL P4'S, THEY DONT EXIST; you have to get xeons and pay a shitload more (700 bucks for the 3.06 on newegg right now, per processor).

I would never buy a mac, but I have to give them mad props for always being ahead of the curve with pc technology. you cant buy any other computer right now with serial ata, pci-x, and ethernet built in for this price, and have it look that good.

apple is always the one to step up and push new, better technologies to the forefront, just like they did with usb back when the pc world was still jerking off with serial, ps2, and parallel. and because these are out, you are going to see pci-x and serial ata finally make it into large-scale production much faster than if it was just up to pc manufacturers.

i'm neither a pc nor a mac freak, but both have their strong points. I've used both pretty extensively.

I wouldnt call the implementation shit, there are a lot of things you can do much more easily on the mac platform as compared to pc's, straight out of the box.

in general though, you can always count on apple to have the newest technologies out first in full-scale production while the pc world plays catch-up.

edit - i dont see any pc's currently shipping in volume from any oem's with serial ata and pci-x as standard.
