Well heres the deal, I found a dual 2.0 ghz g5 tower for sale here in town pretty darn cheap. However it doesnt give a video signal at all, seems video cards going bad were a common problem with the G5s. Was wondering if i pulled my ATI Rage 128 (AGP style, not pci) out of my old G4 dp450mhz if it would work atleast to make sure thats the only thing wrong with the machine. Any ideas?

I forgot the reason why, but it won't.

sure 80 bucks is cheap... but i have 3 video card laying around.... plus it sounds like youre wrong cause many new video cards say they're G4 and G5 compatible.

The particular card you mentioned wouldn't work based on a Google search. Plus, if you're going to fix up that system why not throw in a card 1/2 way decent since there's still some good life in it.

I see your point, but im doing this to diagnose it before i buy it. Dont wanna screw my self into buying a computer with a bad logic board or something.
